Speed up your Computer Start-Up

To speed up your Windows computer's start up time, you can use a very easy built-in tool to configure what starts up when the system loads. This will not make your computer blazing fast, however it can significantly impact the start-up time. Firstly, open up start and go to Run, or simply hit Windows Key+ R, brings up Run. In Run, you simply want to type in msconfig, you will see information about system booting and other information. You do not need to change any of that. At the top of the msconfig window, you will see multiple tabs. Open up the Start-Up tab. From here, you can choose what loads when the system loads. The more items, the slower your load will be. Turn off programs and services that are either unnecessary (in that case, uninstall them as well), or only used on the occasion.

Make a QR Code

QR Codes are now used very often in order to help out with sending people to your site or providing them with other information in a fast and reliable way. QR Codes can be scanned with a smartphone that has a camera. To make a QR Code yourself, it will take a long time, so there are many online generators available to help. Our favourite is the generator on zxing.appspot.com/generator/ because of its simple design and its fast results. You can choose what the user who scans the code gets from a very easy to use drop-down menu.

Will.You.Type.With.Me is a great online collaboration service. It is very similar to services such as Zoho Docs and Google Docs however it requires no login. You can only do text editing. On the side you will be able to see how many lines have been written and it is great for working together on an HTML. You can chat from a side bar and your revision history will be saved. Browse Secretly in Google Chrome

Google Chrome has a great built-in feature called incognito mode, the mode allows you to browse secretly meaning that your history and cookies will be deleted right after closing the incognito window. However, bookmarks and downloads will still remain. This feature can also be helpful when trying to have multiple accounts open at the same time, because your logins will remain logged on if you open a normal Chrome window. To access the feature, simply hit Ctrl-Shift-N on your keyboard or click on the wrench icon, and then click New Incognito Window (should be the third one down). When you open up the Window you will be provided with a description of incognito browsing.

What are the Multi-Touch Gestures on the iPad?

Apple's iPad Tablets come with multi-touch gestures. These gestures allow you to perform multiple functions by simply sliding or moving your hands on the screen in a particular way. This makes performing tasks such as going back to the home screen faster and easier. You can also switch between apps, and open up the multitasking panel.

Use 4 or 5 fingers for all the gestures:

To go home- use all fingers and pinch in
To switch between apps- use the fingers and slide left or right
To open the multitasking try- use fingers and slide up
